Lalchandani Simon Engaged in Boy Racer, Inc. v. Does 1-625, Case No. 11-32622 CA 05

December 13, 2011  |   News

Lalchandani Simon continues its representation of innocent Internet users through its recent filings in another adult movie “copyright troll” case in Miami, Florida.

The past year has seen a tremendous increase in mass copyright cases filed by pornography companies against hundreds or thousands of nameless “Doe Defendants.”  These cases are often frivolous and used to force “cost-of-defense” settlement payments out of potentially innocent defendants identified only by their IP addresses.  Most of these cases settle because defendants are fearful or embarrassed at the prospect of having their actual identities linked to these pornographic downloads.  However, many of these cases are based on incomplete and unreliable information relating to IP addresses that have been associated with copyrighted movies distributed through BitTorrent Protocols.  Lalchandani Simon PL helps to defend against these specious claims and will move to dismiss the case or quash discovery in order to protect our clients and stop this epidemic.

Lalchandani Simon was most recently engaged in Boy Racer, Inc. v. Does, Case No.  11-32622 CA 05.   If you have been sued by Boy Racer or in a similar case, e-mail info@lslawpl.comor call (305) 999-LAW1.
