Statement on the Loss of Jean Perwin

June 02, 2015  |   News

It is with great sadness that the Firm announces the death of Jean S. Perwin.  Ms. Perwin was an incredible attorney, and the Firm was honored to be associated with over the past two years.  When Ms. Perwin joined the Firm as Of Counsel, we were delighted to welcome such a renowned intellectual property specialist.  Her contributions to the legal community, and to the Firm in particular, will always be remembered.  She is survived by her husband Joel, daughter Amanda, son-in-law Seth, son Sam, and two grandchildren.

Ms. Perwin was a chair of the Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Section of The Florida Bar.  She was the co-author of The Artist’s Friendly Legal Guide, the author of Electronic Copyright, a columnist for How Magazine and the Artist’s Magazine, and the author of numerous articles on copyright and trademark law.  She lectured widely in the copyright, trademark and contracts area for The Florida Bar and other art, entertainment and business organizations.  She was a mentor to many young attorneys, and an advocate for women in the law.

Ms. Perwin was a 1975 graduate of Boston College Law School where she served as articles editor of the Boston College Law Review. She was a member of the Bars of Florida, Massachusetts and the District of Columbia.

For any former clients of Ms. Perwin looking to inquire about the status of their engagement with her or the Firm, you may email or call 305-999-5291.
